What changed
Briefpoint’s Client Doc Collection adds a structured, trackable way to collect files from clients directly into your RFP workflow. Instead of juggling email attachments, shared drives, and manual re-uploads, clients add files through Client Bridge and those documents immediately appear in your case, aligned with the right RFP items.
- Clients upload documents directly through Client Bridge instead of sending files via email or shared drives.
- Uploaded files are automatically associated with the relevant RFP items and case production.
- Attorneys can review, select, and include client-provided files as responsive, with full traceability into what was provided and when.
How to use it
- From an RFP item, use the Client Tasks sidebar to create one or more document-request tasks.
- Send the Client Tasks to your client using Briefpoint’s email template; clients access Client Bridge, upload documents (or explain why they don’t have them), and submit.
- Back in Briefpoint, review each Client Task response per RFP item, choose which documents are responsive, and include them. They will be cited to by their Bates Number or Exhibit collection in the final output.
Notes
Client Doc Collection is built on Client Tasks tied to specific RFP items. Clients can upload documents, add context, or indicate that they do not have the requested materials. Briefpoint silently converts supported file types to PDF for processing while preserving the original files for download and evidence; unsupported formats remain available to download and can be converted and re-uploaded via Case Production. Client-uploaded documents that are included as responsive cannot be excluded from AutoDoc processing, ensuring that once responsive files are accessible in the future via AutoDoc.
FAQ
Do my clients need special access or setup to upload documents?
No. Clients receive a secure link to your firm’s Briefpoint Client Bridge, enter a verification code, and are guided through a simple upload flow. They can drag-and-drop documents, provide context in free-text fields, or indicate that they do not have certain documents—no extra accounts or tooling required.
How are uploaded documents organized and reused across requests?
Uploaded documents are stored as case files and stay associated with the Client Tasks and RFP items they support. Attorneys can reuse client-provided documents across multiple RFP items, and once a file is included as responsive and processed, it participates in future AutoDoc runs just like any other case file.
What file types are supported, and what happens with unsupported files?
Briefpoint automatically converts supported office formats to PDF behind the scenes so they can be processed and reviewed in the RFP workflow. For unsupported formats (including video and audio), clients can still upload the originals; attorneys can download them from the RFP item or Case Production, convert to PDF off-platform, and re-upload so they are included in downstream workflows.
Client Doc Collection is available for RFP workflows via Briefpoint's Client Bridge. Conversion is supported for common office formats; unsupported file types remain downloadable from Case Production for off-platform conversion and re-upload.
